English Language Learning Teacher - Temporary

Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week, as needed

Wage: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE

"Performs a variety of English Language Learning (ELL) instruction and events for beginner to intermediate speakers of English to help students understand and communicate verbally and in writing with others in the English language.

Assists the Library’s Education and Outreach Specialist by providing English Language Learner instruction for approved curriculum and instruction on United States civics curriculum, typically in a classroom setting.

Prepares lesson plans; effectively manages a classroom environment with children, teens, and/or adults.

Effectively models pronunciation for a wide variety of English vocabulary to non-English speakers. Assists the Literacy Coordinator in the planning and delivery of events related to ELL classes."

Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week, as needed

Wage: $20.35 - $21.37 per hour

"Performs a variety of working level, professional duties as needed to expedite the delivery of public library services...

Coordinates and leads classes and other types of instruction or programs for adults, teens, children, and family groups...

Creates and makes needed modifications to curriculum to better match student needs; prepares lesson plans, effectively manages a classroom environment with children, teens, and/or adults...

Prepares and distributes information to advertise applicable programs and services to potential student audiences...

Provides support materials, information, and services to students, parents, and program-related volunteers and staff, including, but not limited to, training workshops, new and emerging reader events; and referral to additional library programs and services; selects and orders instructional materials.

Participates as a key staff member in library outreach to schools, community groups, organizations, etc..."

Book Sale Volunteer

"The Library Book Sale Volunteer supports the set-up, running of, and final clean-up of the library's used book sale.

Volunteers help library books and other used materials find new homes where readers can enjoy them."
